Somewhere At the intersection of Culture and Digital.
Organisations working in culture face a unique challenge: they operate in a sector rich in meaning and tradition, yet must navigate an increasingly digital world. Most digital consultants don’t understand culture. Most cultural managers don’t understand digital. I work in the space between both.
With a background in Computer Engineering and Cultural Management, I have spent over two decades building digital platforms and advising cultural organisations. As co-founder and director of Coffeepaste, now in its 19th year, I have had a front-row seat to the evolution of the performing arts in Portugal. I attend over 100 performances a year, sit on juries for leading funding programmes, and bring that immersion directly into my consulting work.
Who I aim to work with
– Cultural organisations: theatres, museums, festivals, and performing arts companies looking to strengthen their digital presence and strategy
– Municipalities and public entities: local and regional government bodies managing cultural programmes or building cultural strategies
– Private companies with cultural dimensions: brands, agencies, and businesses operating at the intersection of culture, creativity, and communication
– International organisations: non-profits, foundations, and institutions seeking expertise in the Portuguese and European cultural landscape
What I can help you with
DIGITAL STRATEGY FOR CULTURE
Defining your organisation’s digital identity, content approach, and online presence in a way that is coherent with your cultural mission.
FUNDING & APPLICATIONS
Advisory support for cultural funding applications — including DGArtes, Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, and European programmes — drawing on direct experience as a jury member for several of these programmes.
CONTENT & CURATION
Helping your organisation think about how to present, curate, and distribute its content and story in digital channels — from editorial strategy to community building.
ARTISTIC PROGRAMMING
Support in building and curating artistic programmes, drawing on 19 years of Coffeepaste, regular experience as a jury member for creation support programmes, and attending over 100 performances a year. A perspective that combines deep knowledge of the performing arts landscape with strategic and editorial vision.
How I work
I work on a project basis. Each project begins with a diagnostic conversation to understand your organisation’s needs, context, and goals. From there, I propose a tailored scope and timeline.
I value honest, long-term relationships over transactional engagements. My best work happens when I understand not just what a client needs, but why.
