Pedro Mendes is a multifaceted professional with a career that seamlessly combines technology, arts, and culture. Holding a degree in Computer Engineering, he further enhanced his academic background with a postgraduate degree in Cultural Management and Sustainability from the University of Coimbra. His journey has been enriched by his attendance in the Freelance Journalism in Music and Arts course at the London School of Journalism, as well as courses in Arts Management and Production and Professional Photography.

As a co-founder of the Coffeepaste platform (2006), currently serves as its General and Creative Director, leading this prominent hub for the performing arts in Portugal. Between 2019 and 2023, he collaborated with O Espaço do Tempo as an Artistic Advisor, coordinating and evaluating projects under the Creation Grants programme and serving as a jury member for the Portuguese Platform for Performing Arts.

Renowned for his expertise in the cultural sector, he is a jury member for prestigious awards such as the Authors’ Awards – Dance (Portuguese Society of Authors), the Newcomer Award of the D. Maria II  National Theatre and the Arts Grants programme of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. Since 2022, he has been part of the Monitoring Committees for the Portuguese Arts Council, in the Portuguese Theatre and Cine Theatre Network and the Multiyear Support Programme (2023-2026).
