Write like a blogger

Friday, April 11th, 2008

From Seth Godin’s Blog, “Write like a blogger

Example: “It’s okay if you leave. Bloggers aren’t afraid to include links or distractions in their writing, because we know you’ll come back if what we had to say was interesting.”

FreeRice logo
-It’s nice to do good
- It’s fun
- Very well built site, usability and interaction wise
- You get to help, and learn

Go learn!

“FreeRice is a sister site of the world poverty site, Poverty.com.
FreeRice has two goals:
1. Provide English vocabulary to everyone for free.
2. Help end world hunger by providing rice to hungry people for free.
This is made possible by the sponsors who advertise on this site.
Whether you are CEO of a large corporation or a street child in a poor country, improving your vocabulary can improve your life. It is a great investment in yourself.

Perhaps even greater is the investment your donated rice makes in hungry human beings, enabling them to function and be productive. Somewhere in the world, a person is eating rice that you helped provide. Thank you”.

Site Time Out Lisboa Online

Time Out Lisboa
Foi finalmente lançado o site da Time Out Lisboa.

Eco-friendly Products

Friday, September 7th, 2007

Part of the Thirty Day Challenge, I created a blog about an issue that I am interested in: Eco-friendly Products. It could have been anything, but I might as well choose something of interest. I have been learning with Ed Dale’s lessons, and following almost all advice, though not all. There is indeed a lot to be learned about Internet Marketing. More on this when I finish my education :)

Thirty Day Challenge – I’m in!

Sunday, August 12th, 2007

I got to know about the Thirty Day Challenge through the great Brendon Sinclair and SitePoint.
As the site puts it:
I”n a nutshell… The Thirty Day Challenge is about making your first $10 online. For a full 30 days we are going to be showing you exactly how to start your own Internet business and generate your first income online without spending a dime”.
So I’m keeping an open mind and doing it. So far I’ve found very useful advice and tools. I’m working hard to be up to speed, since I only started last Friday, and tomorrow is already day 11. But I’ll do it, and let you know about the experience, and whether I made 1, 10, 100, or no $ at all :-)

Thought for the weekend

I am reading Seth Godin’s “small is the new big” and, of course, loving every word of it. This sentence is taken from an article called “Are you a Clown?”. He applies it to the business world, but it means so much more…

“Wishful thinking is not a replacement for the real world”

You’re forgiven Little MOO

Friday, August 3rd, 2007

I had ordered my personal cards from Moo. I now ordered some stickers to try.
They made a small mistake with my order. Do you think they waited until I got it (and maybe not even realise it)? No. They sent me this email:

Hello,

I’m Little MOO. We’ve spoken before, I’m the piece of software that
manages your order with MOO.

I’ve done a Very Bad Thing.

Don’t worry – your StickerBook will be fine, but I might’ve lost the
information that tells the real life people at MOO what colour cover
you ordered for your StickerBook.

I might only be a piece of software but I am embarrassed and I do
feel like a bit of an idiot. If you do get the wrong cover for your
book, please accept my apologies and know that someone has fiddled
with my insides and fixed them, and it won’t happen again.

In the meantime, I hope you love the Stickers you ordered.

Very best wishes, and sorry again,
Little MOO.

It made me smile. It made me feel lighter, having had a crappy day up till then. Do you think I cared about the (small) mistake?
