A Vision of Students Today

Thursday, March 11th, 2010

This video takes a look at American students, their relationship with technology, and their most important characteristics. Things are very different from, say, even 10 years ago. The educational system needs to catch up in most countries, because the reality has changed so much in a very short time. What do you think needs change?

The Story of Stuff, the Book

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

The book based on the video “The Story of Stuff” was released today. This book by Annie Leonard goes a bit deeper than the video and explains the whole process that stuff goes through from the Earth, back to the Earth, with all the risks involved. I haven’t got the book yet, but I am sure buying it. More when I get a chance to read it. In the meantime, if you haven’t seen this great video yet, here it is.

My Fair Lady – On The Street Where You Live

Books read in February 2010

Monday, March 1st, 2010

Here are the books I read in February 2010. The goal of a book a week is still in place and well under control. This is the first time I’ve set a yearly goal, and it seemed like a very good one to start with. Here’s the list:

- The Road, by Cormac McCarthy
- What Matters Now
- How Proust Can Change Your Life, by Alain de Botton
- Dom Casmurro, by Machado de Assis
- The Schopenhauer Cure, by Irvin D. Yalom
- The Art Of Innovation, by Tom Kelley
